WHY IS RACE SO IMPORTANT?
YOU, ME, AND EVERYONE else we all pretend we don't see color, that another person's ethnicity has no bearing on our behavior. We all lie to ourselves. The American Experiment is without a doubt the greatest feat of nation building in the history of mankind. The Founders were nothing short of brilliant in their idea of a democratic land, but they were massively flawed in the mechanism of building reality from thought. We've been mired in blood, color and faulty thinking since then. I see color on FamWorlds some days. I see faulty thinking so subtle that sometimes I don't realize I'm a victim of it. I'm not going to allow the fact that some days there are more white faces than black faces, or brown faces than yellow dominating the feed, stifle my goal, a free and open avenue of communication on the information highway. I'm staying in the mix.
